The Haitian-American English Club (HAEC)

The primary objective of HAEC is to offer students (children and adults) of English as a Second Language (ESL) the opportunity to express themselves through reading, writing, and listening exclusively in American English as frequently as possible. It will be achieved through various educational, social, and cultural activities, such as:

  • Pen Pals, where members of the club will be able to correspond with US citizens.

  • Practicing English through computer-based programs, videos, and seminars offered by experts on different English topics.

  • Presentation of movies and plays.

  • Excursions to Puerto Rico, US, and the Virgin Islands

  • Celebration of major American holidays, such as, Martin Luther King Day, Memorial Day, Thanksgiving, and a special day create by HAEC called Traditional American Food Day, which allows students to learn about different popular dishes.

  • An American non-denominational Christian service will take place every Sunday from 8-10 AM. Anyone who believes in God and Jesus Christ as their savior can participate.

If you wish to correspond with one of our club members in Haiti, please click here.
